Cisco ordered to pay $1.9B for infringing cybersecurity patents

enior U.S. District Judge Henry C. Morgan Jr. of the Eastern District of Virginia concluded Cisco infringed Centripetal Networks' patents in a Monday ruling following a court trial.

San Jose-based Cisco Systems Inc. was ordered to pay $1.9 billion in damages and interest for infringing four cybersecurity patents owned by a Virginia company.
