California lawyers beat pork producers’ antitrust dismissal motion

U.S. District Judge John R. Tunheim in Minnesota denied motions to dismiss filed by most of the defendants — including Hormel Foods Corp., JBS USA Food Company, Smithfield Foods Inc., Tyson Foods Inc. and Triumph Foods LLC.

California attorneys representing restaurant chains and other purchasers of pork persuaded a Minnesota federal judge Friday to allow their antitrust lawsuit against large agricultural companies to move forward.

U.S. District Judge John R. Tunheim denied motions to dismiss filed by most of the defendants -- including Hormel Foods Corp., JBS USA Food Company, Smithfield Foods Inc., Tyson Foods Inc. and Triumph Foods LLC.
