Monitor criticizes PG&E's vegetation management efforts

Mark Filip, the monitor appointed by prosecutors following deadly wildfires sparked by PG&E equipment, told the judge that it appears the utility is focusing its vegetation management work in low-risk areas in order to meet targets instead of prioritizing high-risk areas.

A U.S. judge ordered Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to explain why a compliance monitor found no meaningful changes to the utility's risk reduction plans.
