DA drops 14 cases involving San Jose officer-witnesses who posted racist comments

After reviewing more than 100 cases in which the officers testified, District Attorney Jeffrey Rosen said he believes the integrity of 14 of them has been so compromised that he can no longer stand by the convictions.

More than a dozen misdemeanor cases will be dismissed because they relied on witness testimony from San Jose police officers who were placed on administrative leave in June in connection with Facebook comments that were considered racist, Santa Clara District Attorney Jeffrey Rosen said Thursday.
