State Bar committee leery of policing donations to DAs

In a meeting Friday, the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct discussed the proposal in a June 1 letter from three of the state's 58 district attorneys and one former district attorney who is a candidate in a race on the Nov. 3 ballot.

A State Bar committee appears wary of treading into political waters as it ponders a proposal that would restrict elected prosecutors or candidates from soliciting political and financial support from law enforcement unions.
