Provisional licensure expansion could add thousands to bar

The court decision would expand the current provisional licensure program to include those who scored 1,390 or higher on exams administered between July 2015 and February 2020, without requiring them to retake the exam upon completing the program.

The state Supreme Court approved a proposal on Thursday that could give thousands of new lawyers an alternative pathway to licensure.
