LA County says US judge’s order not based on facts
“The county saw the district court’s ‘evidence’ and learned about its novel legal arguments for the first time on April 20, 2021 — the day the injunction issued,” attorney Mira Hashmall wrote about U.S. District Judge David Carter’s order.
Los Angeles County, fighting to pause an injunction that ordered it to clear out homeless encampments in less than five months, maintains there were no "robust hearings" that discussed factual evidence to support such a sweeping order, and accused a group of plaintiff businesses and property owners near skid row of making up arguments to support the order.
