Toll road systems agree to pay $216M to end 2 class actions

U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II of the Central District of California granted preliminary approval of the settlements on Monday, after adopting the recommendations issued by retired federal judge Andrew J. Guilford, the special master in the case.

A federal judge signed off on two settlements totaling $216 million to resolve claims from motorists who said the state toll operators' excessive fee collection practices violated privacy laws.
