Alameda County DA won’t seek 4th term

The first female district attorney to serve Alameda County, O’Malley’s announcement clears the field somewhat for an election that is just over a year away.

Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley will not seek reelection to a fourth term next year.

The DA did not give a reason for the departure, but in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon, O’Malley said she “could not be more thankful for the career I have had in the best district attorney’s office in the state and certainly one of the best in the nation.”
