Judges OK’d to serve on Access to Justice Commission or Child Welfare Council
Justice Douglas P. Miller of the 4th District Court of Appeal said the question regarding the commission and the council were most likely brought up by a judge following an opinion the committee issued in March regarding judicial officers’ involvement in a governmental task force created to address hate crimes.




Judges are not only allowed, but are encouraged to serve on the California Access to Justice Commission and the Child Welfare Council, according to an advisory opinion issued Tuesday by the Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Ethics Opinions.
