San Francisco DA calls suit against ‘ghost’ gun makers a crime preventer

“This is a creative way for the DA to use his authority to combat an obvious safety problem. It’s one of the first cases of this type that we know,” says Travis Silva of Keker, Van Nest & Peters.

The San Francisco district attorney sued manufacturers and sellers of "ghost" guns Wednesday, explaining that a civil complaint would allow him to take a preventive approach to public safety. Attorneys from Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP and the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence will help the DA Chesa Boudin litigate the case.
