Orange County schools lose bid to end governor’s state of emergency
Robert H. Tyler, a partner with Tyler & Bursch LLP, argued Newsom violated his duty under the Emergency Services Act. He stated Newsom should not maintain the state of emergency because of a filing by Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office on his behalf saying the state is no longer in danger of its health system being overwhelmed.




Orange County schools lose bid to end governor's state of emergency
The state Supreme Court has rejected a bid by the Orange County Board of Education to strike down the state of emergency declared by Gov. Gavin Newsom in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The court, with Justice Carol Corrigan absent, rejected the proposed writ of mandate on Wednesday.
