Supreme Court won’t hear Intel challenge patent ruling

The decision is a victory for Lowenstein & Weatherwax LLP, a Los Angeles firm that represents VLSI Technology LLC, the patent holding company that has filed a string of infringement suits against Intel in the Western District of Texas.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied a petition by Intel Corp. challenging an appellate ruling denying inter partes review proceedings because they are an inefficient use of resources due to parallel district court trials.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected the Santa Clara semiconductor company's argument that it violated the Administrative Procedure Act and exceeded statutory authority.
