Consumer laws should apply to bail contracts, 2 class actions say
“Both cases seek to represent a statewide class of any person in California who cosigned a bail bond from All-Pro or Aladdin Bail Bonds from March 23, 2018, or who has had an outstanding debt obligation since that date on a cosigned bail bond,” said Yaman Salahi, the Edelson partner in San Francisco who signed both complaints.




Attorneys with Edelson PC filed proposed class actions against two of the largest bail bond companies in the state. Each seeks to build on a recent state appellate ruling that upheld a lower court, which found consumer protections in a 1997 law apply to bail contracts.
