LA County launches Human Trafficking Diversion Court pilot

Public defender, alternative public defender and district attorney staff will work with a Pomona Court judge to help trafficking victims within the misdemeanor master calendar.

Los Angeles County announced a diversion program for human trafficking victims that aims to improve and restore their well-being in the community through a series of social services.

District Attorney George Gascón was joined by Public Defender Ricardo Garcia and Alternate Public Defender Erika Anzoategui for the launch of the pilot program, which will be implemented at the Pomona Courthouse and aims to expand in other parts of the county ...
