Fremont PD shooting victim set for jury trial in June

According to the lawsuit. “[Elena] Mondragon, who was pregnant at the time, was struck four times and although she fought to survive, she ultimately succumbed to her shotgun wounds.”

The Fremont Police Department is headed to trial in June over the shooting death of a teenage girl during a covert arrest operation five years ago.

After a pre-settlement hearing on March 30 failed to make progress toward resolution, U.S. District Judge Virginia K. DeMarchi set the trial date.
