School district sues Dow, Shell over TCP in water
The plaintiff said cleaning up the drinking water for its students, staff and faculty requires the installation of a special water treatment plant, which costs millions of dollars to install and operate.




A school district in Merced County has filed a lawsuit against Dow Chemical Company and Shell Oil Company, alleging they contaminated drinking water when they sold pesticides they knew contained the carcinogen 1,2,3 trichloropropane, otherwise known as TCP.
