Judge admonished over letters to Long Beach chief of police
“The commission found that Judge Meyer engaged in several instances of misconduct arising out of the same matter, creating the appearance that law enforcement officers were in a special position to influence her, misusing the prestige of her judicial office to advance the personal interests of law enforcement officers and herself,” stated the admonishment.




The Commission on Judicial Performance publicly admonished Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Judith L. Meyer on Tuesday for writing letters to the chief of police in Long Beach after she upbraided police officers in court but then received them into her chambers for an explanation of their conduct.
