LA DWP’s first inspector general role to pose challenges
“I am not walking into the role without a preconceived notion of what the problems are, but with tactical calibrated recommendations,” Sergio Perez said. “Lawsuits only contain certain information, they don’t focus on the contributed facts or the root of the problem.”




Sergio Perez, appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti as inspector general for the scandal-plagued Department of Water and Power, said Tuesday, “I believe the investment is going to pay off.”
Perez, a former federal prosecutor and a California deputy attorney general, said in an interview, “It is an undeniable fact that LADWP has taken very positive and important steps in creating this position and improving its service.”
