Biden’s circuit nominee from Washington has varied background

District Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr. has been on the Eastern District of Washington court since June 2014, following his nomination by President Barack Obama.

U.S. District Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr., nominated to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by President Joe Biden on Wednesday, spent much of his career in criminal law, as a state and county prosecutor, law firm attorney and sole practitioner.
