State Bar to discuss contract for sale of headquarters

"Relocating outside of the Bay Area would cause massive disruption to our Northern California based staff, which would not be in the best interests of the public we serve," said State Bar Executive Director Leah Wilson.

The executive committee of the State Bar board will consider Tuesday a contract for the sale of the agency’s San Francisco headquarters and the acquisition of new office space in the Bay Area, a move trustees believe will help to balance the agency’s budget.

The bar retained Cushman & Wakefield, its current property manager, for the anticipated sale of the 13-story, red brick and glass building at 180 E. Howard St.
