Costa Mesa wins another fight with rehab facilities
Monday’s decision was the second favorable court outcome Costa Mesa has achieved in its ongoing attempt to regulate the number of sober living homes in the city. A similar verdict in 2019 was upheld by a unanimous panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.




Municipalities can determine the location of sober living homes, who owns them and how far apart they should be, a federal jury determined in a case brought against the City of Costa Mesa.
