Judge who decided Oracle/Google cases joins Irell & Manella

Judge Kathleen O’Malley wrote major opinions in the long-running battle between Oracle and Google over Java

Kathleen O’Malley, a retired U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit judge who wrote major opinions in the long-running legal battle between Oracle Corp. and Alphabet Inc.-owned Google over Java, joined Irell & Manella as of counsel, the firm announced Thursday.

She will be based in the Washington, D.C., office Irell opened in September.
