6 LA firefighters who alleged retaliation get $6M

“The wrongful retaliatory actions we alleged toward these firefighters, who dedicated their lives to protecting the community, was not only damaging to them, but to the thousands and thousands of people who worked in the buildings the plaintiffs believed were improperly and unsafely inspected,” statement by plaintiffs’ firm McNicholas & McNicholas read.

The City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Fire Department reached a $3 million settlement in a case with six firefighters who alleged they were retaliated against for revealing what they believed to be legal violations and safety concerns during public building inspections.
