San Francisco’s opioid litigation ‘built on false assumptions,’ defense lawyer says

“The existence of a crisis is not the ultimate question raised here. The question is, who is responsible, and for what?” lawyer Collie James said in his opening statement.

A lawsuit the city and county of San Francisco brought against a group of companies along the opioid supply chain is “built on false assumptions,” a lawyer for the defendants said Tuesday.
