Telecom groups abandon challenge to California’s net neutrality law
State legislators passed SB 822 in 2018 after the FCC, dominated by appointees of President Donald Trump, rescinded the 2015 federal net neutrality rules adopted by the agency during the Obama administration.




Telecommunications industry groups, thwarted thus far in legal challenges to California’s net neutrality law, have given up the battle for now.
Instead, an industry spokesman said Thursday, they will focus their efforts on passing a federal law or regulations that would supplant California’s. It is not clear how easy that will turn out to be.
