Stanford expert testifies against drugmakers, stores

On cross-examination, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP partner Wendy West Feinstein pointed out a publication by Lembke that advocated for pre-screening of patients for whom chronic opioid treatment is being considered.

A professor of psychiatry at Stanford took the stand as an expert witness Monday on behalf of the City of San Francisco to challenge the narrative of pharmaceutical companies and drugstores that failed addiction pre-screening by doctors was a key component of the opioid crisis.
