Dating site seeks order to remain on Google Play Billing

“Ten years ago, Match Group was Google’s partner,” Hueston Hennigan LLP partner Douglas J. Dixon wrote in the complaint, filed Monday in San Jose federal court. “We are now its hostage.”

Match Group LLC, the on-line dating site, is the latest company to sue a Silicon Valley giant for violating the Sherman Act by forcing the use of Google Play Billing for its payment services.

Attorneys for the dating app filed a motion Tuesday seeking a temporary restraining order blocking the Alphabet Inc. subsidiary from removing the company from its app store.
