New suit claims Uber isn’t doing enough to stop sexual assaults
“Both Uber and Lyft have created a platform for sexual predators. You have very minimal background checks and zero supervision and no real safety measures put in place to protect vulnerable passengers,” said Stephen J. Estey, one of the attorneys representing the plaintiffs.




Uber Technologies Inc. is being sued yet again for allegedly falsely representing itself as a safer alternative to other forms of transportation for drunk women and late-night riders, knowingly lying about how rigorous its background checks are, knowingly allowing sexual assaults of female passengers by repeat offenders and failing to take adequate steps to correct it.
