US judge says he doesn’t trust defense attorneys, recuses self, then seals order
"I lost the ability to trust the honesty of defense counsel. I cannot take anything defense counsel states at face value," U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II wrote in his order recusing himself.

U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II of Los Angeles recused himself from a sex trafficking case, writing Wednesday that he couldn’t trust the defense lawyers.

Wright declined to comment on a query from a Daily Journal reporter asking about his critique of two lawyers with the Federal Public Defenders Office in Los Angeles.
