Bill to let state Capitol aides unionize set for revival
“The Legislature has claimed to be pro-union and pro-worker but has refused to grant its own employees the choice to collectively bargain,” said the bill’s sponsor, Assemblymember Mark Stone, a Santa Cruz Democrat.




The effort to allow California legislative staffers to unionize will get another burst of energy next week in the form of a revived bill to greenlight collective bargaining by rank-and-file Capitol aides.
The new bill, sponsored by Assemblymember Mark W. Stone, a Santa Cruz Democrat and chair of the Judiciary Committee, will be introduced at a press conference on Tuesday.
