Trial starts in dispute between Oracle, Hewlett Packard

Oracle claims it suffered $66.8 million in lost profits because Hewlett Packard Enterprise worked with Terix Computer Co. to infringe copyrights it acquired in its purchase of Sun Microsystems Inc.

Testimony in a legal showdown between technology behemoths Oracle Corp. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. started Tuesday in what is expected to be a three-week trial in Oakland.

Latham & Watkins LLP attorneys, representing Oracle, claimed their client has suffered $66.8 million in lost profits because HPE worked with Terix Computer Co. Inc. to infringe copyrights it acquired in their purchase of Sun Microsystems Inc.
