The San Mateo County Superior Court and the Judicial Council have agreed to stop collecting $30 million in civil debt, a coalition of civil rights groups announced Wednesday.
The Judicial Council also agreed “not to fight this lawsuit pending action from the governor and the Legislature to end civil assessments permanently,” a news release from the plaintiffs stated.
