Lax security led to mass shooting in San Jose last year, lawsuit says

A disgruntled employee of Valley Transportation Authority killed nine of his co-workers before turning the gun on himself. He had several previous altercations with co-workers and they had warned management about him, the complaint says.

The family of one of the nine victims of last year’s Valley Transportation Authority shooting in San Jose filed a lawsuit Thursday alleging the VTA, county sheriff and United Protection Service were negligent in protecting employees of the railyard.
