Law professor helped plan a crime, lawyers for Jan. 6 committee say

Former Chapman University Fowler School of Law professor continues to fight subpoenas for documents related to work for Trump.

Former Chapman University Fowler School of Law professor John C. Eastman must disclose documents sought by the committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attacks on the U.S. Capitol because he was involved in planning a crime, government lawyers argued in briefs.

Lawyers for Eastman, meanwhile, doubled down on their argument that his “actions and advice must be seen for what they were — a legitimate attempt to prevent a stolen election.”
