Arbitration compelled in dispute between “Matrix” co-producers

“WarnerMedia benefits by driving up the value of its subsidiary, just as [it] prepares to spin off and merge with Discovery, all while providing zero benefit to Village Roadshow, talent and other partners,” read the plaintiff’s court filing.

A Los Angeles judge compelled arbitration Friday between Warner Bros. and co-financer Village Roadshow Films in their dispute over the timing and mode of release for “The Matrix: Resurrections” just before last Christmas.

Village Roadshow sought to keep alive its right to seek a preliminary injunction against Warner Bros. by being allowed to withdraw its motion or have it declared moot when the judge compelled arbitration. But the requests...
