New speaker, members, outlook in offing for state Assembly
Assemblyman Robert Rivas, D-Salinas, announced Friday he had “secured enough votes” to replace Speaker Anthony Rendon, D-Lakewood.
The California Assembly is getting a new speaker — and soon, a lot of new members. The combination could change the legislative outlook for the legal field and other professions.
