Judge quashes subpoenas of police records for Activision Blizzard employees

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing sought the records for its sprawling investigation into allegations that the Santa Monica-based game creator allowed a workplace that was hostile to women and some minorities.

A Los Angeles judge quashed, at least for the moment, a state agency’s subpoena for police records of 19 current and former employees of Activision Blizzard as part of its bias and discrimination litigation.

Judge Timothy Patrick Dillon agreed with Activision Blizzard that the subpoenas were issued without proper notice to the individuals.
