Bonta sides with Washington state on wages for immigrant detainees

“Contracts with the federal government do not exempt employers from any and all state or local laws that may impact the bottom line,” wrote Supervising Deputy Attorney General Marisa Hernandez-Stern in an amicus brief for California and 14 other Democrat-led states and the District of Columbia.
