California Medical Association names new chief legal officer

The announcement comes after the group struck a deal with trial lawyers to increase the cap on non-economic damages in medical malpractice cases.

The California Medical Association on Thursday named Jamie Ostroff as its new chief legal officer and general counsel, in charge of “leading the association’s legal and regulatory efforts.”

Ostroff comes to the job after spending two years in a similar role with Hill Physicians Medical Group. He also spent time as an associate general counsel at Blue Shield of California.
