Jury returns possible $135M dietary supplement fraud verdict
“This sends a signal to the fraudulent supplement industry that if the supplement doesn’t work they should stop selling it. This was just the New York state class and there are plenty of other supplements that are overhyped and don’t do anything. They’re now on notice,” said Timothy G. Blood of Blood Hurst & O’Reardon LLP, which represents the plaintiff class.




A federal jury in San Francisco returned a possible $135 million verdict against a subsidiary of Bellring Brands Inc. If that amount is confirmed by the judge, it would be the largest dietary supplement false advertising verdict ever, and is just the first of 10 cases against the company that were broken up from an original lawsuit nine years ago.
