Plaintiffs trim claim against Qualcomm over ‘inflated prices’

The plaintiffs allege that, as an early developer of mobile technology, Qualcomm holds patents on technologies found in every device and standard. Because these patents were never shared or were licensed at a premium, Qualcomm is able to regulate the price of devices and coerce consumers and phone makers into paying higher prices, the complaint states.

A proposed class of plaintiffs accusing Qualcomm Inc. of artificially inflating prices for phones, tablets and smart devices filed a pared down complaint that drops a federal antitrust claim.
