Commission confirms justice to 4th District Court of Appeal
Justice Joanne Motoike is the first person of Japanese heritage and the first woman of color to sit on Division 3 of the court.
The Commission on Judicial Appointments on Thursday unanimously confirmed Orange County Superior Court Judge Joanne Motoike and longtime public defender as a justice of the 4th District Court of Appeal, Division 3 in Santa Ana.
She was sworn in by Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye.
