Panel to decide if victim is real party of interest when convicted harasser appeals
The case originated from a decision by UC Santa Barbara that plaintiff and respondent John Doe was guilty of sexual misconduct. Doe subsequently sought judicial review in Alameda County Superior Court, claiming the university did not give him due process or a fair hearing and UCSB did not have sufficient evidence when the school made its decision. The victim was not notified of the review.
