Facebook Pixel collects data from health care portals, patients allege

Plaintiffs accuse Facebook of parsing information from hundreds of medical provider patient portals on millions of patients and using that information to make targeted ads to generate revenue.

Users of health care websites are suing Meta Platforms Inc. for allegedly using Facebook Pixel to gather data on the communications between patients and providers without their knowledge or permission, a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
