Copyright lawsuit gets faster decision in Texas while Hollywood studios await

Columbia Pictures, Amazon, Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures filed a complaint for copyright infringement in 2020 against Nitro TV, for divulging several movies and series on the subscription-only platform that was originating from the Dish Network LLC programming.

While a Texas judge has awarded $100 million to three television service providers over a rebroadcasting scheme, a California joint lawsuit against the same streaming company’s alleged piracy that was brought by major motion pictures companies the previous year still awaits a decision.
