Hair care company settles lawsuit filed by whistleblower

The plaintiff said John Paul Mitchell Systems breached his contract and fired him because of his age. He also said the company acted in retaliation after he spoke out on behalf of a co-worker he believed was underpaid. The settlement amount wasn’t disclosed.

Hair care company John Paul Mitchell Systems settled a whistleblower retaliation case for a confidential amount after a Los Angeles County jury awarded $26.6 million in compensatory damages to a plaintiff who said he was fired for raising concerns about the misclassification of workers.
