4th District reinforces finality of arbitral awards

“We agree the court lacked authority to review the award; that none of the statutory exceptions to limited judicial review raised by [the defendant] apply. Accordingly, we reverse the order,” wrote Justice Terry B. O’Rourke in a unanimous opinion.

The 4th District Court of Appeal reinforced the finality of arbitral awards as it reversed a lower court’s order that had vacated an arbitration over a conflict of interest in a real estate investment firm’s representation team.
