Prosecutors to dismiss Avenatti’s remaining charges

“The government expects to move to dismiss the remaining counts of the indictment after sentence is imposed,” reads the document, signed by Assistant U.S. attorneys Brett A. Sagel and Ranee E. Katzenstein.

The U.S. government will move to dismiss 31 charges against suspended attorney Michael J. Avenatti after a judge sentences him for the five wire and tax fraud charges he pleaded guilty to last week, according to a filing submitted Tuesday by Central District U.S. Attorney Tracy L. Wilkison.
