Legislators, AG push bill to restrict concealed carry

Under the bill, law enforcement agencies considering a new or renewed concealed carry license would need to conduct in-person interviews, get three character references, and review publicly available information about the applicant — such as social media posts.

California legislators and the attorney general are pushing forward on a bill that would restrict how people seeking concealed carry weapons permits could get them, and where they could be, under an aggressive approach that is stirring heated opposition from gun rights advocates.
